## What is healthcare recruiting software for Phoenix employers?

Healthcare recruiting software for Phoenix is a tool hospitals, hospice providers, home care agencies and clinics in the Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler metro use to interview CNA, caregiver, medical assistant and nurse applicants by phone the moment they apply. Classet's AI interviewer, Joy, calls or web-calls the applicant and asks about Arizona nursing assistant certification, a DPS fingerprint clearance card, shift availability and how far the applicant will drive in Valley heat between clients. Your recruiter receives a structured summary, the transcript and the recording, and a person on your team decides who comes in.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the metro employed 57,940 home health and personal care aides at a median of $36,930 a year in May 2025, plus 15,410 medical assistants and 13,550 nursing assistants. On Classet's platform, 55% of applicants apply outside business hours, after a shift at Banner or HonorHealth or between home visits.

For a Phoenix home care agency hiring from a pool of 57,940 aides at a $36,930 median, the numbers mean more than half of caregiver applications arrive after the office closes, and 88% of applicants who start Joy's screen finish within 20 minutes of applying. A scheduler in Tempe or Peoria opens the dashboard at 7am to completed interviews from the night before, each with fingerprint card status, certification and drive radius already recorded, and calls back the caregivers who meet the must-haves before Banner or HonorHealth reaches the same applicant. Across 10,167 post-interview ratings, 88% of candidates rated the Joy interview positively.

## How many caregivers, CNAs and medical assistants work in Phoenix?

The Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler metro, which is Maricopa and Pinal counties, employed 57,940 home health and personal care aides in May 2025 at a median of $36,930 a year, about $17.76 an hour, according to BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics. Nursing assistants numbered 13,550 at a median of $45,290, about $21.77 an hour. Both medians sit above the national figures of $17.21 and $20.13 an hour that BLS reports for the same jobs.

Phoenix has an unusual mix. Medical assistants, at 15,410 jobs and a $46,830 median, outnumber nursing assistants, so outpatient clinics and physician groups from Scottsdale to the West Valley make up a large share of entry-level healthcare hiring. The metro also counted 53,700 registered nurses at a median of $100,830 and 4,450 LPNs at $78,080. A clinic recruiter and a hospital recruiter in Phoenix often chase the same certified applicant for different job titles.

## Which Phoenix employers compete for healthcare workers?

Banner Health is the largest private employer in Arizona, according to the company, with more than 60,000 employees and 33 hospitals run from its Phoenix headquarters. HonorHealth, the Scottsdale-based nonprofit, reports 9 acute-care hospitals and more than 17,000 team members across the greater Phoenix area. Both systems hire nursing assistants, patient care technicians, medical assistants and RNs year-round.

Hospice of the Valley, a nonprofit hospice serving Maricopa County, northern Pinal County and Tucson, says the organization has more nurses' aides with national hospice and palliative care certification than any other hospice in Arizona. Home care agencies and skilled nursing operators across the Valley post caregiver and CNA openings in the same Indeed searches as those three. For example, a CNA in Glendale who applies to four jobs on a Tuesday night in 2026 sees all of those postings at once, so the employer whose interview reaches the applicant first gets the first real conversation.

## Where do Phoenix CNAs get trained?

The Nurse Assisting Certificate of Completion from Maricopa Community Colleges is the main public route to CNA certification in the metro, offered at GateWay, Glendale, Mesa, Paradise Valley and Scottsdale community colleges. The certificate runs 2 to 4.5 credits, takes two semesters or less, and combines classroom work with clinical practice in long-term care or acute care settings. The Arizona State Board of Nursing approves the program, and graduates are eligible to sit for the certification exam. Applicants must hold an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card before the college will accept the application.

For a Phoenix employer, the fingerprint card requirement doubles as a screening question. Joy asks each applicant whether the card is current and when the card expires, so a recruiter knows on day one whether a new graduate from the Mesa or GateWay cohort can start orientation next week or needs to wait on paperwork.

## What does Joy do on a Phoenix CNA application?

Joy is the AI interviewer described on the [healthcare hiring page](/use-cases/healthcare), set up here for Arizona roles.

1. The moment a Valley caregiver or CNA applies, whether through Indeed, your careers page or a Classet interview link, Joy calls the applicant or texts a link to a web call.
2. Joy introduces itself as an AI interviewer and asks your questions, for example Arizona CNA certification, a Level One fingerprint clearance card, CPR or BLS, shift and weekend availability, a reliable vehicle and the farthest drive the applicant will take between home visits.
3. Joy answers pay, mileage and benefits questions from the FAQ you wrote.
4. A recruiter or director of nursing opens Hiring Hub or your ATS to a structured summary that marks each Arizona must-have as met or not met, with the recording and transcript attached, and decides who moves forward. Candidates who clear your must-haves can get a text with your open times and book on their phone through [Scheduling](/scheduling), available by request.

Nothing in the summary is a grade from Joy, and a Phoenix applicant who prefers a person can opt out and talk to your team.

## Roles Joy screens in Phoenix healthcare

Home health aides and caregivers, the largest group at 57,940 in the metro, answer for certification, a Level One fingerprint clearance card, dementia and hospice experience, a vehicle with working air conditioning and how far the caregiver will travel between clients. CNAs, 13,550 in the metro at a $45,290 median, answer for Arizona certification, long-term care or acute experience and weekend availability.

Medical assistants, 15,410 jobs at a $46,830 median, cover CMA or RMA certification, phlebotomy and injections, the EHR used and front-desk versus back-office preference. LPNs and RNs give license number, multistate compact status, specialty and unit experience, BLS or ACLS and float willingness, and your credentialing team verifies the license with the Arizona State Board of Nursing as it does today. Hospice aides add end-of-life care experience and on-call availability. In Hiring Hub or your ATS, a hospice aide opening and an RN opening run as different interviews, each with knockouts written for that Phoenix role.

## Frequently asked questions

### How fast can a Phoenix home care agency hire caregivers with AI interviews?

The answer is a first conversation at the moment the caregiver applies, instead of a callback the next business day. Joy calls or texts the applicant, confirms certification, fingerprint clearance card status, a vehicle and the shifts the caregiver can cover, and posts the summary to Hiring Hub or your ATS the same hour. On Classet's platform, 55% of applicants apply outside business hours and 88% of applicants who start the screen finish within 20 minutes of applying.

A Phoenix agency hiring from 57,940 home health and personal care aides then spends recruiter time on caregivers who already meet the must-haves. As a national comparison, Chronic Care Staffing cut time-to-hire from 6 to 8 weeks to 2 to 3 after moving the first screen to Joy. Your scheduler still meets the caregiver and makes the offer.

### Does Joy check Arizona fingerprint clearance cards or CNA certification?

No. A Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is the Arizona Department of Public Safety card many healthcare employers and the Maricopa Community Colleges nurse assisting program require, and Joy does not query the DPS or the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Joy asks whether the applicant holds a current card, the expiration date, Arizona CNA certification status and any certification from another state, and records each answer in the summary and transcript.

Your team verifies the card and certification before hire, the same checks you run today. You decide which answers are knockouts, for example a current card for any home care role, and Joy marks each applicant as meeting or not meeting the requirement at the top of the summary. An applicant waiting on a card renewal in 2026 can say so on the call, and your recruiter sees the answer before scheduling.

### What do CNAs and medical assistants earn in Phoenix?

Phoenix pays close to the national median for entry healthcare roles. In May 2025, BLS reported a median of $45,290 a year for the metro's 13,550 nursing assistants, about $21.77 an hour, against a national median of $20.13. Medical assistants in the Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler metro earned a median $46,830 across 15,410 jobs, and home health and personal care aides earned $36,930 across 57,940 jobs, about $17.76 an hour against $17.21 nationally.

Registered nurses earned a median $100,830. Those figures belong in the job's FAQ: enter your pay range and any mileage reimbursement, and Joy gives both to a Valley caregiver who asks mid-call. An applicant who hears a clear rate on the first call is easier to schedule than one who has to wait for a callback to learn the number.

### Can Joy interview Phoenix healthcare applicants in Spanish?

Yes. For caregiver and CNA openings in the Valley, Spanish is available among the 25 or more languages Joy interviews in. When the applicant selects Spanish at the start, Joy asks the same questions and knockouts in Spanish, and the summary reaches your scheduler in the language your office uses, with the recording and transcript attached. A caregiver in Maryvale or South Phoenix can explain dementia care experience and a travel radius in Spanish instead of guessing at an English web form, and the scheduler compares the answer fields side by side with English-language applicants.

Any applicant can stop the AI interview and ask for a person, and Joy hands the applicant to your Phoenix staff. Classet aligns the interview with NYC Local Law 144 and has Warden AI, an outside auditor, run a bias audit on it each month.

### Does Joy work with the ATS our Phoenix team already uses?

Yes. Joy plugs into 95 applicant tracking systems through ATS Sync, Classet's integration, among them Workday, iCIMS, UKG, Bullhorn and ADP Workforce Now. Once a caregiver lands in your ATS, the interview starts on its own, and Joy files the summary, transcript, recording and knockout results to the record your Phoenix recruiters open each morning. A Phoenix home care agency without an ATS uses Hiring Hub, Classet's built-in applicant tracking, which includes a direct Indeed connection, applicant import and a Kanban pipeline and can start the same day.

ATS-integrated deployments start at $1,995 a month and are scoped in a discovery call. Joy keeps the conversation to employment questions and collects no patient information, and the recordings and transcripts are stored in your ATS and in Classet, a SOC 2 Type II certified platform.

### What does AI phone screening cost for a Phoenix healthcare employer?

Standalone pricing is $249 a month billed annually, or $349 month-to-month, with 50 completed interviews included, and you bring candidates through Indeed, your careers page or an interview link. Scale is $999 a month billed annually, or $1,399 month-to-month, with 250 completed interviews. ATS-integrated deployments start at $1,995 a month and are scoped in a discovery call based on hiring volume and the systems involved. A Valley caregiver who never picks up uses none of the monthly interviews, since only completed ones count.

A single Scottsdale clinic hiring a few medical assistants a year fits inside the standalone plan. A home care agency refilling caregiver caseloads across the East and West Valley, or a staffing firm placing CNAs in Phoenix nursing homes every week, usually needs Scale or an ATS-integrated plan.
